Sunday 14th July - walk *** – Hemley circuit including picnic by the church – sunny start then cloudy.

The day started sunny but it did cloud over in the afternoon but we are on a roll now as no rain again, I had hoped to go windsurf foiling but the wind did not play ball:( So I did my exercises in the sunny back garden while Mag pottered in the garden, I helped her dig a hole in the grass to put an old dustbin to plant up before packing a picnic. Being a Sunday the seafront is best avoided so we drove over to enjoy the peace and quiet by parking near Hemley Church for lunch as a buzzard circled above! We then walked done through the farm watched by the two horses, one with a really cool platt. The path was wet and muddy for a short section as usual, it definitely needs a wooden walkway to get over this section then made a small detour to the left to watch loads of dinghies racing in a light breeze on the Deben with sea lavender in bloom everywhere, we scared off a curlew and a family of shell ducks on the mud! We continued to follow the Deben to Kirton creek with butterflies everywhere and back along the country path not seeing anyone. It is under two miles but we were pretty knackered and glad to get back to the van, not helped by the fact it was close and airless!
